Uganda Members of Parliament instruct the National Drug Authority (NDA) to abolish the restriction on new pharmacies following a petition delivered by Counsel Deo Kalikumutima on behalf of Uganda Pharmacy Owners Association (UPOA).
This 2018 petition delivered by Counsel Deo on behalf of Uganda Pharmacy Owners Association (UPOA) cited a number of grievances against NDA.
The petitioners led by Counsel Deo asked Parliament of Uganda to do the following:
(a) Investigate the leadership and management of National Drug Authority;
(b) Investigate the plight of the Petitioners as presented;
(c) Halt all illegal and unlawful closures of pharmacies until the said investigations are completed;
(d) Expedite the investigations and offer a viable response to the Petitioners.
